COURSE OUTLINE

  1. To compare and contrast various learning theories.
  2. To tailor the application of learning theories to specific curricula (seminars, activities) in Resuscitation.
  3. To design training programs according to international curriculum development models (e.g., SPICES curriculum).
  4. To integrate current trends in technology applications into the pedagogical practice of Resuscitation.
  5. To tailor the teaching of resuscitation with innovative interactive activities and developmentally appropriate software.
  6. To compare and contrast the principles of assessment and their application in resuscitation (OSCEs, skills assessment).
  7. To differentiate between formative and summative assessment and to integrate them in achieving learning outcomes.
  8. To articulate and defend the rationale for their chosen pedagogical process and their conclusions to both specialized and non-specialized audiences.
  9. To formulate research hypotheses concerning the teaching and assessment of resuscitation.
  10. To develop reflective teaching journals.
