COURSE OUTLINE

  1. To compare and contrast the physiology and anatomy of the porcine model and humans.
  2. To critically evaluate and apply the translational value of the animal model in life-threatening conditions.
  3. To integrate your pathophysiological and pharmacological knowledge in a living biological system.
  4. To compare and contrast the models of ventricular fibrillation and asphyxial cardiac arrest.
  5. To compare and contrast ventricular fibrillation and asphyxial arrest with the animal model of neonatal asphyxia.
  6. To interpret the pathophysiological disturbances in the porcine model of hemorrhagic shock and resuscitation.
