Evaluation of the IIPSP
Evaluation of the IIPSP
At the end of each semester, an evaluation of each course and each instructor is carried out by the postgraduate students. The evaluation is conducted using a special evaluation form/questionnaire that the postgraduate students complete. The courses are evaluated based on their content, teaching methods, educational material, and the degree of their correlation with the principles and philosophy of the postgraduate programme. The instructors are evaluated on multiple levels, which may indicatively include an assessment of their knowledge and ability to convey it to students, their preparedness, their use of contemporary literature, their willingness to answer questions, the timely grading and return of assignments and written exams, and their adherence to the course’s teaching hours.
The annual internal evaluation of the IIPSP is conducted in collaboration with the Quality Assurance Unit (MODIP) of the University of West Attica, within the framework of the internal evaluation of the Department/School to which it belongs and in accordance with the corresponding process of the Institution’s internal Quality Assurance System.
The external evaluation of the IIPSP is conducted in collaboration with MODIP within the framework of its certification, in accordance with the procedure provided by the Hellenic Authority for Higher Education (HAHE).
The Department of Public and Community Health, which undertakes the administrative support, is evaluated within the framework of the periodic evaluation/certification of the academic unit by the Hellenic Authority for Higher Education. In this context, the evaluation assesses the overall work accomplished by the IIPSP, the degree to which its founding objectives have been met, its sustainability, the absorption of its graduates into the labor market, its contribution to research, its internal evaluation by the postgraduate students, the advisability of extending its operation, as well as other data related to the quality of the work produced and its contribution to the national strategy for higher education.
If, during its evaluation stage according to the above paragraph, the IIPSP is deemed not to meet the requirements for its continued operation, its operation will be phased out, concluding with the graduation of the currently enrolled students, in accordance with the founding decision and the regulations for postgraduate and doctoral study programmes.
